# India IFSC code finder

Checks an 11 character IFSC against the RBI format, explains each position, and names the bank from its four letter code.
IFSC code, one per line for a batchBank name or code fragmentFor example Canara, small finance bank, UTIB

Codes bundled in this build: SBIN, ICIC, HDFC, UTIB, KKBK, PUNB, BARB, CNRB, UBIN, IDIB, IBKL, INDB, BKID, MAHB, CBIN, IOBA, UCBA, PSIB, YESB, BAND, FDRL, SIBL, KVBL, TMBL, CIUB, KARB, JAKA, SVCB, RATN, IDFB, AUBL, ESFB, DCBL, DBSS, CITI, HSBC, SCBL, DEUT .

Enter an IFSC to check it, or search for a bank code.

The format check is exact: four letters naming the bank, a fifth character that is always 0, and six branch characters where letters are legal. There is no check digit, so a transposed branch character passes; the format proves the shape, not the branch. Bank names come from a short dated list of common codes, and a code outside the list is usually a regional rural or cooperative bank, not a bad code. Branch resolution is deliberately left out, because bank mergers retire tens of thousands of IFSCs; RBI's published IFSC and MICR files are the only branch-level authority. Everything runs in this tab.
