Your files stay on your device Card BIN/IIN lookup Explains what the first six to eight card digits reveal: industry identifier, brand range, and number structure, with honest limits. Enter the first six to eight digits of a card number. A worked example: 411111 reads as industry digit 4 (banking and financial), an IIN that names the Visa range, and three possible total lengths (13, 16 or 19) with the Luhn check digit at the very end. The breakdown stops there, because that is all the digits say. Issuer ranges are leased and reassigned, so the same prefix can move between banks over time.
