Your files stay on your device Apple app site association validator Paste an apple-app-site-association file to check app IDs, components, App Clips and shared web credentials, then test URLs to see which rule opens the app and which claims miss. Paste a file to check it. The matcher is Apple's, not an approximation: components are read top to bottom and the first one that fits decides, an excluded match or no match at all keeps the link in Safari, and only https URLs can open the app. What this tool cannot see: whether the file is actually reachable at /.well-known/apple-app-site-association, whether Apple's CDN has refreshed it (that can take up to 24 hours), or the "$" substitution variables some files use in defaults.
