# Android screen density calculator

Convert a value between dp, sp and px for any density bucket, derive device dpi from resolution and diagonal, and list asset pixel sizes for mdpi through xxxhdpi.

Enter a value to convert.

The 160 dpi baseline is the whole model: one dp is one pixel at mdpi, and every bucket is a multiple of that. sp additionally follows the reader's font scale, so a label sized in sp grows when they raise it. Bucket arithmetic here is the plain math from the Android pixel-density docs; a real device can report a fractional density, and resource lookups round to the nearest bucket on the device itself.
