Your files stay on your device Inductor color code calculator Reads inductor colour bands or printed codes into an inductance value with tolerance, plus reactance and a resonating capacitor. Pick the bands or type a printed code to decode it. Printed codes work like the resistor code but in microhenries: 101 is 10 times ten, or 100 uH. R and N sit in as decimal points, with R counting uH (4R7 is 4.7 uH) and N counting nH (2N2 is 2.2 nH). At the frequency you enter, the result shows XL = 2 pi f L and the capacitance that would resonate with the part, C = 1 / ((2 pi f)^2 L). One honest limit: a colour sequence or a printed code says nothing about saturation current, RMS current, DCR, Q or self-resonant frequency. Ferrite beads are lossy and should not be decoded as inductors at all.
