Dog food calculator

Estimates daily calories from weight and life stage, then converts a food's label calories into grams or cups split across meals.

Resting energy is RER = 70 x weight to the 0.75 power, the WSAVA allometric figure, and the stage multipliers are the conventional bands vets quote. That makes this a starting point, not a prescription: real needs vary with muscle condition, climate, and illness, and a weight-loss plan belongs to your vet. Cups are the least accurate measure in the chain; a kitchen scale beats them.
