# Java .properties inspector

Parse .properties with dot-properties — dotted key paths, escapes, natural lines — and see every dropped comment and decoded \\uXXXX escape counted in a loss ledger.

- No XML .properties variant (Java also reads those) — the classic text grammar only.
- Values keep their quotes verbatim when written; java.util.Properties’ store() writes no quotes — the ledger says when the forms differ.
- Keys are shown as their dotted paths: the format has no real nesting, just names with dots.
