# Simplecast podcast downloader

Paste a Simplecast episode URL, the tool resolves the show's public RSS feed, finds the episode enclosure, and saves the feed-declared original audio file.

The episode page's head names its audio and the show's feed. A public play button is not download permission; tokenized files and paid episodes are refused before the audio host is contacted.

This tool reads the episode page, it does not stage the audio: the bytes are not pulled through the page, because Simplecast's CDN sends no CORS headers and the fetch proxy caps text answers, so it cannot carry a media file. Each row hands you the feed-declared original URL, untouched and not re-encoded, to save the way you would save any direct file link. Audio URLs that carry a token or key parameter are refused without a second fetch, and an episode whose page marks it paid or subscriber-only is refused outright. Nothing is checked beyond what the public page publishes.
